Teaching kids about money—we know how to do that, too! We hosted students from the Pál Felsőbüki-Nagy Elementary School in Fertőszentmiklós as part of a project.
The goal of the project is to provide school-age children with practical knowledge about how to use money, the responsibilities that come with it, and the importance of saving and planning ahead.
First, Andrea Stefánich gave an interesting, interactive presentation on the operations of GYSEV CARGO and how financial management works at a large corporation, using examples that even children could understand to illustrate the scale of operations—comparing the children’s allowance to the company’s monthly budget.
Afterward, Lajos Balogh spoke about the history of money, its significance throughout the world over the millennia, and its historical development. He then explained some basic financial terms to the children—such as inflation, credit, and the difference between “currency” and “foreign exchange”—spicing up his explanation with interesting stories.
Afterward, the children were finally able to take out their cell phones and, under the guidance of Szilvia Hőfer-Nagy, took an online quiz on what they had learned.
An indispensable part of our programs for young people is a virtual reality tour of our company, and this is how we concluded the event.
Thank you to the children for their interest and for visiting us!
