At the invitation of Ab Ovo, the GYSEV CARGO Group was represented at the Railfreight Summit international rail industry conference, which took place from 15-17 April.
The focus of the conference was on the railway situation in the Polish and Baltic region and the role of the North-South freight corridors, in particular the RFC5 Baltic-Adriatic rail corridor.
The conference also focused on digitalisation and sustainable IT infrastructure management and software development.
In his opening presentation, Willem Jan Groenewoud, CEO of the Ab Ovo Group, showed that digital systems are becoming increasingly energy-intensive and that by 2050, if current trends continue, IT systems and networks will account for 15-20% of global energy usage.
Therefore, Ab Ovo, as a global software developer, has already made it an important goal to strive for energy efficiency and sustainability in its own field of software development. As part of this, it has developed an energy-efficient software development solution, the ECOLogic platform, for the implementation of which it has invited the GYSEV CARGO group as a partner.
At the conference, Dr. Zoltán Zentai, Head of Digital Development of the GYSEV CARGO Group, and Mr. Willem Jan Groenewoud presented the new ECOLogic platform.
